Kristi Rogers participates in "National Security and Supply Chains: Finding Economic Security in a Changing World” Panel

Glad to recently participate in an insightful panel discussion hosted by the Women's Foreign Policy Group, TradeExperettes, and Denmark in USA on the intersection of economic policy and national security. Our panel, "National Security and Supply Chains: Finding Economic Security in a Changing World" dived into crucial topics surrounding investment screening, technology controls, and supply chain resilience in today's geopolitically tense landscape. The conversation highlighted the evolving toolkit of measures aimed at bolstering economic security, with a focus on industries like semiconductors and biotechnology. Finding the delicate balance between national security imperatives and market-driven economic activity is paramount, and it was enriching to exchange perspectives on this critical issue. Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such an important dialogue! Thank you to my fellow panel members, Degi A., Deputy Director of Monitoring and Enforcement in the Treasury’s Office of Investment Security; Kimberly Donovan is the director of the Economic Statecraft Initiative within the Atlantic Council’s GeoEconomics Center; Renee Sonderman Office of Conventional Arms Threat Reduction, US Department of State; and Penny Naas for moderating. hashtag#EconomicPolicy hashtag#NationalSecurity
